Explorer's Egypt
Our 15-day Explorer’s Egypt itinerary has been designed to take you behind the scenes, to show you many facets of Egypt in an enjoyable way and at an enjoyable pace. Of course, on your Egypt travel you’ll see the places that have drawn visitors for thousands of years, including the Pyramids and Sphinx, the ancient necropolis of Sakkara, the Temple of Karnak and Philae Temple at Aswan.
As we tour Egypt, we’ll have a two-night stay at a unique hotel on Luxor’s West Bank, so you can visit the great temples of Abydos and Dendera, places not included on most programs. We also spend the night at Abu Simbel, with ample time to visit its great monuments. (You’ll return to the temples at night when they’re illuminated — it’s magic.) And in Cairo, you’ll be guests at the home of an Egyptian family for dinner.
We have selected the very best accommodations for you as part of the Egypt package. Travel along the Nile aboard the M/S Tu-Ya, a beautiful new ship with spacious cabins and excellent amenities. Our guests this past year have told us over and over how much they enjoyed the ship, food and service provided on our Egypt travel expeditions. In Luxor, you’ll spend two nights at the fantastic new Al Moudira Hotel, with the Valley of the Queens as a backdrop. In Giza you’ll stay at the Mena House Oberoi right in the shadow of the Pyramids. Your room at the Cairo Marriott, a former palace, overlooks the Nile.
Everyone who has ever visited Egypt knows that a key difference between just seeing the country and understanding it is your Egypt travel guide. Our guides have years of experience in the field and are experts on Egypt’s history and culture. Beyond that, they are warm, caring people who want you to enjoy yourself and get the most out of your Egypt travel. You’ll be met and assisted through customs at Cairo Airport by your Egypt travel guide, be pre-registered at hotels and receive bottled water at hotels and on our sightseeing excursions.
